A Word From The Principal

P and C Appreciation Day- Last Wednesday, students from each class shared with the P & C Executive, as well as the wider school community, all the acts of service the P & C provide for our school. They were thanked for the following:-
- Providing our school with a yummy tuckshop
- Paying for the Prep mums and dads coffee on the first day of school
- Buying the Year 1s their new bag racks
- Running a Father’s Day stall
- Paying for the new concrete area and undercover area for Year 1 and 2 to use.
- Running a Mother’s Day stall
- Getting our teachers and teacher aides coffee to celebrate on World Teacher’s Day
- Helping families who don’t have a lot of money
- Paying for the bus to take us to Athletics Day at Wamuran.
- Helping the Sunshine Singers, Year 6 and the Eco Marines to raise money with ice blocks
- Fundraising with Kenilworth donuts for digitech and helping the school to get more digital resources
- Buying Year 6 special graduation bears
- Coming up with great uniform designs and choices
Special acknowledgement goes to Mrs Samantha Sewell (President), Mrs Lyndal Callan (Vice President), Mrs Vanessa Carius (Secretary), Mrs Alana Lowe (Treasurer), Mrs Corinne Green (Tuckshop) and Mrs Maddy Fewkes (Uniform). All of these ladies work, raise their children and still manage to give of their time to support your children and the school. Many thanks to all the other volunteers who give of their time to help run stalls and support events. It’s a team effort and that is what DC is all about.

Chappy Dinner- On Friday night, our annual Chaplaincy Dinner was held at Tullawong State School Hall. It was a spectacular night and really showcased what the chaplaincy service is and does for so many. A special thanks to Mrs Melissa Ford for her support through gaining sponsorship and fundraising for our school chaplain, Tracy Sbresni.
Battle of The Brains- Friday night was a busy night for our school community, with our Year 6 students competing in the now annual City of Moreton Bay Battle of the Brains. This competition sees Year 6 students from across the region participate in a general knowledge/trivia type competition.

Starlight Foundation- Another event on Friday included our staff and students wearing purple/aqua for a gold coin donation to support the Starlight Foundation. Together, we successfully raised $270.00 towards this great cause.
Have a wonderful fortnight.

Whole School Expectations

Week 5’s expectation was to Be Respectful with the catch phrase, be a bucket filler.
We all carry around an invisible bucket that contains our feelings.
A bucket filler is someone who says or does nice things for other people. By doing this, they are filling other people’s buckets and filling their own bucket as the same time.
A bucket dipper is sad or does things to cause other people to feel bad. A bucket dipper empties their bucket when they say and do mean things to others.
Week 6 we focused on Being Responsible with the catch phrase, be a problem solver.
This week also focuses on using the S.A.L.T method of using our words, not our hands or feet. Stop, Ask, Listen and Talk/Tell is the process we like everyone, including adults to use at our school.
When something doesn’t seem right or we want something to go our way, we stop and ask a question. ‘Hey, can I use that truck after you?’
We then wait to hear what the answer is. ‘I’m using it to move my sand to over there?’
If the answer isn’t what we wanted to hear, we might ask another question or go and get the teacher to help us further. We never use our hands or feet to solve a problem.
